Last week on her talk show, Ellen Degeneres took aim at Apple during a skit about the iPhone. It's marginally funny, in that Ellen way, but it seems to have gotten a decent amount of laughs from the crowd. One person who didn't laugh, though, was Steve Jobs.
Turns out, Apple reps contacted Degeneres after the piece ran and voiced their disapproval over her segment, which they claimed had made ...

The Catholic Church may be embroiled in a grotesque child abuse scandal, but the controversy certainly hasn't prevented one ecclesiastical TV station from taking its digital dogma to the third dimension.
As NPR reports, Boston's CatholicTV has become the first religious media outlet to openly embrace 3-D technology by directly incorporating it into its pious programming. Upon opening the 3-D ...

For tech geeks, searching through old sci-fi books and films for their prescient predictions and monumental failures provides unceasing possibilities for both effusive praise and snarky ridicule. Ray Bradbury's ominous 'Fahrenheit 451' offers an assortment of such once futuristic and now modern creations, and, thanks to Ryan Hoagland, we now seem to be approaching the successful realization of ...

As you know, there's a bounty of 3-D TVs set to hit stores this year. Everybody's raving about the additional dimension, but nobody's talking much about the toll of watching hours of 3-D programming could have on your health. PC World found some interesting warnings on Samsung's Web site that bring to light some real questions. As it turns out, children, teenagers, old people, pregnant women and ...

Have you ever wondered who spends all that time spreading vitriolic comments around the Web? If this video we discovered on Funny or Die is any indication, it's a secret government department with a knack for raining on everybody's Internet parade. Okay, so maybe that's not the truth. But the folks behind the British sketch-comedy show 'Happy Finish,' premiering later this month, and their ...

The Rooster Teeth team recently unveiled a pilot for a show called 'Immersion.' This year, perhaps more than any before, millions will tune in to watch the 2010 Masters Tournament, which begins on Thursday. While some credit is due to Tiger Woods and his off course 'shenanigans,' recent advances in streaming online video will play a part, too.
NewTeeVee reports that there are two go-to sites for live golf coverage this weekend: CBSSports.com and Masters.com. These sites ...

Since joining Twitter in February, late night host Craig Ferguson has been referring to his followers as his "robot skeleton army," "cyber bonies" and "Skellyborgs." The joke has taken on a life of its own as the 'MythBusters' robotic genius Grant Imahara has built, and on tonight's episode will deliver, Ferguson's very own robot skeleton sidekick.
The bot, which the Scottish host has already ...

Late night hosts had a little fun at the expense of the iPad last night.
David Letterman embraced his role as the crotchety, technologically illiterate uncle. He stared at the device like an ape examining a monolith and shook it like an Etch-a-Sketch before licking it in an attempt to turn on the screen. Later on, Letterman dedicated his nightly top-ten list to "questions to ask yourself ...

We've been wondering what Will Wright, creator of 'Sim City,' 'The Sims' and 'Spore,' would do once he left Maxis, the company he helped turn into a gaming powerhouse. Apparently one of the "secret projects" Wright mentioned at GDC earlier this month will have the much-lauded developer shifting to a new medium: television.
Wright developed the idea with Albie Hecht, former president of Spike TV ...
